The C8 starts as a base chassis and two uprights and bracing and is fitted with an over-run braking system and telescoping rear light beam.
GB Type Approval regulations classify trailers as O1 (up to 750kg gross weight) or O2 (above this). The C8 can be supplied as an O1 trailer with a maximum gross weight of 750kg or as an O2 trailer with a maximum gross weight of 950 OR 1100kg.
The C8 can now be configured to suit your needs by the addition of the options. These are full arms and half arms for carrying canoes and kayaks, adaptors to carry playboats, storage cages and boxes.
The Cub 8 is intended for group users with higher spec bikes. Bikes with wheel diameters of 24 to 29” diameter can be accommodated and the bike positions are spaced 50mm further apart than on the B-Series to allow extra clearance for bikes with more substantial forks and brakes. The bikes only touch the trailer with their tyres. An optional equipment box can be fitted to take helmets, muddy clothing etc. This does take up one bike space reducing the capacity to 7 bikes.
The Downhill B-Series is a beefed up version of the B-Series intended for uplifting on downhill courses. While not an “off road” trailer, it is at home on maintained forest tracks and similar. Bikes with wheel diameters of 24 to 29” can be accommodated and each bike is secured by a single strap, only the bikes tyres touching the trailer. Carrying capacity ranges from 10 to 16 bikes.
All Downhill B Series trailers are supplied un-braked.
The optional aluminium equipment boxes can be fitted to the Downhill B-Series; the single box reduces the carrying capacity by one bike and the double box by two bikes.
The B-Series range of mountain bike trailers is designed mainly for the professional user who requires a heavy duty trailer for more intense use. Bikes with wheel diameters of 24 to 29” diameter can be accommodated and each bike is secured by a single strap, only the bikes tyres touching the trailer. Carrying capacity ranges from 10 to 20 bikes.
All B-Series bike trailers are available without brakes or fitted with the optional over-run braking system which also has the advantage of providing a parking brake for when the trailer is disconnected from the towing vehicle; the un-braked trailer will need to be chocked.
The optional aluminium equipment boxes can be fitted to the B-Series; the single box reduces the carrying capacity by one bike and the double box by two bikes.
The B-Series Road Bike shares its chassis with the B-Series Mountain Bike trailer but is fitted with a different loop system more suited to drop or short straight bars. Alternate bikes go further into the trailer allowing the handlebars to miss each other. The bike’s rear wheel is centred in the ‘V’ brackets on the lower slot; the front wheel is located in the narrower top loop. In the event that the side wall of the tyre contacts the loop we supply, loose, spiral protective sleeving which can be cut and fitted to protect the tyre.
